Jennifer Gilliam is a competitive female within the car audio community. She started to pick up car audio when she was in high school and was really hooked when she heard a walled Geo Tracker for the first time. This is the moment when she just knew she had to have her own setup. Her first setup was two Rockford Fosgate 12’s on a Punch 700s. She enjoyed car audio on and off for the next few years, putting two Memphis PR 12’s on a Memphis Belle 5 Channel in her 1996 Neon. Fast forward, she and her husband Chris built her most current system in her PT Cruiser.
Jennifer started to enjoy competing under USACI Novice Outlaw SPL in 2021. Her very first run was at Texas Heatwave in July of 2021 where she hit a 155.56db. In her next two runs, she pulled a 157.83db and a 157.92db. While she does enjoy demoing and loves getting demos, she is much more passionate about being in the lanes! She has many goals set for the future including to learn as much as she can, get her 160+, create new friendships, grow Texas Tornados, get sponsored, try to compete in different competitive organizations, travel to more competitions out of state, make it to finals, and help grow TexasH8hurters!
Electrical
Jennifer’s vehicle and system are run off of a 120ah bank of XS Power LTO cells. To produce 120ah requires three packs of six cells wired six in series and two in parallel. A single pack of six cells offers 4,000w when paired with a 100a alternator, 5,000w when paired with a 200a alternator, and 6,000w when paired with a 300a alternator. LTO, lithium titanate oxide, has recently become a popular choice for creating lithium battery banks in car audio. This can be attributed to the fact that they offer numerous advantages like fast charging, longer lifetime, high level of safety, performance even in low temperatures, a smaller footprint, and less weight.
Her LTO cells are enclosed by acrylic cases from Lange Audio Fabrications (LoudAF). These kits come with everything needed to assemble the battery bank in a clean and custom way. Her battery bank also includes three sets of links and lug end style bars by Jim’s Machineworx.

The fuse holder that is used is a Steve Meade Designs Octo fuse holder. Considering that the entire vehicle and system are run off of her 120ah LTO bank, she has an XS Power battery delete. This just consists of an empty battery case to fit into the stock location so that the stock negative and positive terminals can remain connected.
Jennifer’s alternator is a 320a high output alternator from Autotech Engineering. This is paired with a Coventry Industries voltage control knob that allows for more control to be exerted over her voltage based on need. Keep in mind that this knob will accommodate an internally regulated alternator only. All power wire throughout the car is 2/0 Flex-A-Prene welding cable.
