What Does SALT Mean?
The definition of SALT, in case you are not in the know, means Sundown Audio – Low Voltage – Technology. So what does that mean? For years, the powerhouse amplifiers only produced their peak RMS rating if they were run on a 14.4V electrical system. Realizing that probably 90% or more of the individuals running amplifiers like this do not upgrade their electrical system to those specs, Sundown Audio created the SALT series amplifiers. These amplifiers, with their low-voltage technology, allow them to reach their crazy rated and consistent RMS numbers on the typical 12v electrical system.
Now, just because they can perform at their peak on 12 volts, that doesn’t mean stock your stock alternator, and the battery will be sufficient. These amplifiers still required tons of electrical supply, so beef up your electrical.
Why The SALT Series?
Just as I stated in the previous paragraphs, the SALT series amplifiers are designed to do rated (ofter over) RMS power on 12 volts. This not only makes upgrading your electrical system easier, but it also will enable you to upgrade it for less money.
